Plot:
Poland, betrayed by its allies- The USA and Great Britain, becomes “a puppet state” controlled by the Soviets after the Second World War. The communist regime implanted in Warsaw by the Russians imprisons and murders Polish patriots. The Soviet Union takes away Polish natural resources, agricultural produce and ships paying its Polish vassal with worthless banknotes. Communism ruins Polish economy, destroys the natural environment and kills members of the opposition  There are severe shortages of food which you buy with coopons. [1kg of meat for a person per month]. Then the “Solidarity” movement is born and soon 10 million Poles join it. The whole country goes on strike. In 1981 the communist general Jaruzelski introduces the Marshal Law but nothing will save the hated regime any more.
1989. The negotiations between the “Solidarity” leaders and the communist regime at the so called “The Round Table” come to an end. Then all the eastern European countries regain freedom and get rid of their “red regimes”. The Berlin Wall collapses and the Soviet troops leave the Eastern Europe. However in Poland the communists and their machine of terror go unpunished. They privatise Polish economy, relativize the old system and set up the main private media in Poland. Thousands of the former agents of the brutal communist Security Service [SB] as well as their secret informers occupy the most important posts in the newspapers, universities, courts, sports clubs and big corporations. “Wild West Capitalism” and severe economic reforms introduced by the “Solidarity” [now a political party] make it lose its previous popularity among Poles. “The red goodfellas “ come back as social democrats.

And now the fiction:
An ex-comrade and presently Senator of the Republic of Poland Engels Komuhovich creates an ultra- left wing party called “The Red Revolution” in Bialystok city. Thanks to it he is going to seize power, become the president and restore the old influence of the “red aristocracy”. His political career can only be destroyed by shocking photos taken accidentaly by a girl leaving a disco called Martha just a few days before the presidential elections. She and her boyfriend Patrick [a Bialystok rockman] are chased by two hitmen “Zeus” and “Leon” [former officers of the communist Security Service – SB; now pensioners because of back problems = radiculitis caused by beating up and torturing “Solidarity” members while working overtime] as well as corrupted policemen of Inspector Iskiernia. During their escape Martha and Patric get to an annual ball of Polish gays and later on to the Senator’s plantation where illegal gun, drug and human organ trade takes place. Soon they become the prey in the “man hunt” organized by Komuhovich for his friends from Moscow. The masters of the blood ceremony are “The Hunters” – capitan Kuklinovski and “Garlic Grandfather” – the multiple wrestling champion in Bialystok city. In the vaults under the plantation Patric has to confront a dark East – German surgeon - doctor Kruger as well as his mentally disturbed assistants: “Mongol” and “Frankenstain”. The Polish Secret Service, the Council of radio and Television with Senator Ubovich, the Polish Parliament on Wiejska Street, immoral politicians, looking for the truth and fame reporters of “Free Poland” TV Station or activists fighting for the rights of sexual minorities. National amnesia, the “Solidarity” leaders fraternizing with the former Soviet agents [their ex-tormentors],  Americanized and idiotic Polish youth, rat race and TV stars [children of the former “red aristocracy”] commenting on it all. It all equals the “Polish Little Hell” in a bitter-sweet pill. “The Red Revolution” is a comedy on the failure of decommunization [a short Polish fairytale about a crime without punishment] and difficult beginnings of the Polish democracy in Quentin Tarantino’s style. Through this political grotesque you can hear a disant roar of the waking up “Russian Bear”, which finally ends up in the Smolensk Disaster on 10th April 2010. This film was not accepted by most film festivals in Poland due to its political incorrectness. That is why “Red Revolution” has not been released on DVD since 1998 and has never been shown on TV. Nowadays the rights to this film has been purchased by a Bialystok film maker - George Zinchuk.

“ In our festival, apart from showing films, we also try to promote the image of Poland. “The Red Revolution” is not within the image that we want to promote. - the program director of a famous film festival in Poland.

The premier of „Red Revolution”, “Pokoj” Cinema – Bialystok city, 1st May 1998. Director Peter Krzywiec organized a mock communist march and went through the downtown in a black limousine dressed as general Rezunov.

SCENE: UNDERGROUND CAR PARK

Senator:
You’ ve chosen a strange place for our meeting Kazmir? Did you move your office up to that discotheque? Well, You’ve changed a lot since the times we were together in the Great Communist Party. At present you’re acting like a mother fuckig capitalist blood sucker. For bucks you would drink your father-in-law’s urine and even ask for another portion. Where are your ideals of a communist, Kazmir? Blackmailing me you probably want to get yourself a premature meeting with Jesus?

Mayor:
Maybe you will win these elections and become Mr President of that all post-communist fucking mess, but for me you’re just another red senator pretending amnesia and promising working stiffs heaps of gold. Did you bring the cash?

Senator :
200,000 bucks as we agreed?

Mayor:
200,000 bucks was yesterday. Today is 500,000 thousand. Remember that I’m the president of this city!

Senator:
I remeber..

Mayor:
After your east German surgeon gutted the public prosecutor’s son I can get you out of business.

Senator:
That’s very intersting..

Mayor:
.. and media will fuck you up!

Senator:
I like this guy! I like this guy!

Senator:
I liked this guy!

Senator:

Dear comrades. I’d like to introduce to you our Russian friend Mr Han Abraham.

Han Abraham:
Comrade Fiodorov is able to pay  any amount of money for his new heart.
.... $ 200,000.

Senator:
My dear friend. I won’t bargain with you like some fucking capitalist. Friendship is a great thing. Comrade Fiodorov will live.

Han Abraham:
How are your businesses in Poland?

Senator:
Normally. We export cocaine to all the western countries, guns to all oppressed nations. And we invest dirty cash in factories or some  profitable  enterprises.

Senator:
And our beloved Castro is building prosperity in Cuba thanks to our liver. And now a little surprise.

Senator:
I’ve hired a chef from India recently. Good apetite. Local right-wingers in mayonnaise.

Han Abraham:
Thank you camrade!
The guys in Moscow count on your victory in the presidential elections.

Senator:
I’m spending a fortune on those assholes from TV every day.

Han Abraham:
Politics is like a whore. It fucks suckers. Lenin would get a heart attack if he saw how we shitted his ideals.

Senator:
Communism, my friend, is like opium for crowds. The working class in this country would vote even for the devil himself if he promised them cheaper booze and apartments.

SCENE: HUNTERS

Senator:
Dear comrades. Today  a new man hunting will take place here again. Search every shithouse, wood or stream. If the game gets out of the plantation, it will be out of our reach. The one who brings me their heads will receive a new mercedes and 20,000 bucks. But now I’d like to introduce you to Mr Abraham, the messenger from our Big Brother in Moscow.

Senator:
Dear comrade. This is “The Garlic Grandfather”, the multiple wrestling champion in Bialystok city and a serial killer. He hasn’t cleaned his teeth for 20 years. Here is Captain Kuklinowsky, the former commander of the red berates in Vroclav city. Vodka and drugs damaged his health. Now, he’s working for us. 6 years ago he sold the latest Soviet tank to Americans for a kilo of cocaine and a couple of Playboys. He would have got a death penalty if I hadn’t used my connections.

The soundtrack from the film „Red Revolution”

RED REVOLUTION [lyrics]
Listen up pal ‘cause I will tell you somethin’.
I heard you feel really bad and can’t cope with the new reality.
Choose me and I will reward all your efforts.
I’m gonna give you a new house and a job, too.
I’m gonna lower the price of booze.

You eat fucking hamburgers and watch MTV.
Every night you dream about great freedom and prosperity.
But you’re gonna vote for Red Goodfellas.
Who robbed your parents and are gonna rob your kids.

Red Revolution.
Cash, violence and prostitution.
Red Revolution is still going on.
Red Revolution.
Powerful Institution.
That monster has long tentacles.

I’m a communist, but I don’t give a fuck about Lenin.
I can fuck you up nad Stalin is my idol.
I know red bosses, gangsters from Moscow.
Thanks to their cash I reach my goals.

That’s how those who want decommunization end up.
“Those who have the media are in power.” – Lenin

Corrupted policemen of Inspector Iskiernia, former red”goodfellas”

Comrade Senator walks the messenger of the „Big Brother” from Moscow around his plantation. He organizes “dance macabre” for his guest nearby Bialystok city.

Senator Komuhovich recollects the old good times with his comrades from Moscow on his plantation, a previous Soviet Army training ground.

[On the set the creators of this film used a microphone hanging on a fishing rod, which often caught fire or farted beacuse of sand particles.]

Thanks to the failure of decommunization the “red goodfellas” have come back. They changed the ideals of communism for designer Gucci suits, Armani perfumes, Rolce Royce sets of wheels or holidays in the Bahamas. Their children are no longer members of The Socialist Youth Union but students of Oxford, Harvard or Cambridge.

A good political slogan is the most important thing in every election. Theirs is -“ Sausage tasted better during communism”. In the last phase of communism in Poland there were severe shortages of food which you could buy with coopons. [1kg of meat for a person per month].

The “red goodfellas” no longer drive East-German or Soviet cars. Now they have white limousines. As “democracy specialists and protectors” they often comment on current political affairs in the mainstream private media in Poland created by other regime “red goodfellas”. The society with the supermarket mentality will buy their bullshit. Surprisingly enough, the naive, silly western Europe or the USA take information about Poland from these media just like they believed and adored “uncle Joe” during the Second World War.How can it be different if over 50% of British teenagers think that Adolf Hitler was a coach of the German national football team?

The Senator recollects the old good times.

The hard-core bash in the Senator’s palace to honour the messenger of the Big Brother from Moscow. Heads of Polish right-wing politicians have been served.

The party in the Senator’s palace. Komuhovich didn’t forget about the “red goodfellas” from the regime times.
